Lever/Lever

A lever is a rigid rod that pivots around a point. When you apply a force to the end of the lever it is likely to cause it to turn the fulcrum to the direction of the applied force. This rotates the fulcrum, increasing the applied force and allows you to lift or move something that would require more force if you attempted to apply directly to the load.
The distance between the fulcrum to the point where you apply the force determines how far the lever is able to move. This is referred to as the mechanical advantage. The more the lever extends more, the greater the advantage in terms of mechanical. You can calculate the mechanical advantage by dividing the distance from the fulcrum to the point where you're applying the force by the distance between the fulcrum and where you will end the lever.
Levers can have different effects based on the method by which the force is applied. For example the class 2 lever has a tendency to turn in the opposite direction when the force applied to it (like a T-totter). The forces generated by pushing on the handle of a front door can create rotational effects similar to these.
However, levers don't create energy. They just multiply the force you exert by changing a small amount of effort applied over a long distance into a greater amount of force applied over a smaller distance. This is what enables you to accomplish more in a shorter period of time, which is why levers are often used for lifting heavy objects or moving large amounts of cargo. This is also the principle behind the levers you find in a variety of everyday tools such as crowbars, fishing rods claws for hammers and even your legs when you sit on the hand brakes of your car.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad handles, also referred to as upvc door handles, have levers on each side to operate the multipoint locks. They are available in a variety of variations and finishes and are suitable for a range of materials like UPVC, Aluminium & Timber doors. They are sold in pairs for both the inner and exterior door, with spindles and screws included. They are also available in both handed and unhandled versions for different types of users.
These locks can be used to replace the existing doors made of upvc. The levers are raised to open the multipoint locks and the key is turned to close or unlock the door. They provide a bit more security than standard lever door handles because locking can only be performed from the inside using keys.
They are not as safe as a cylinder lock, but they're a cost-effective way to increase the security of your home. The only disadvantage is that they don't provide the same level of security as a cylinder lock and so don't prevent external access to the home when the door is left open.

Lever/Snib
Lever latches are the most basic kind of door handles. Pressing down on the lever operates a simple latch mechanism inside the door to keep it shut, and can be locked with keys. Some lever privacy handles operate in the same way, but with the addition of the Snib (like a doorknob).
A snib can be extremely useful tool, particularly in homes where security and privacy are crucial. You can use the snib feature to block your partner from entering until they are prepared. This type of handle can also be put in on interior doors such as those in bedrooms where you wish to limit access from outside.
In some instances there are instances where snib buttons could cause problems, especially if you have older locks or doors that are distorted. If the snib button is accidentally pressed, or by a person who isn't familiar with it, your door may shut and lock you out. It is possible to gain entry by knocking the door frame or the letterbox. But, this is not ideal.
If your uPVC has a snib we recommend replacing it with a smart lock from the E-LOK 7 Series. These can be retrofitted over double turn pull handle kits and are available with cover plates to hide existing holes to make it a seamless installation. The system has been tested for 200,000 cycles in order to ensure durability. The handles themselves are constructed using a solid metal structure and are BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 for resistance to corrosion.
